Between global and local: The educational research in two non-metropolitan universitiesArtí­culos

Abstract

In a context of heterogeneity among the national universities in Argentina, in relation to their capacity and conditions of knowledge production in education, and a strong concentration of the production and the human resourses in the metropolitan regions, this work aimed to study the characteristics that the research activity in education assumes in the national universities located in the non-metropolitan regions of Argentina. The practices, modalities and conditions of production have been analized in two universities with theese characteristics; as well as the socialization of the academics, the institutional culture and the social networks in which they participate. A qualitative study has been done, which inquired the perceptions and opinions of the involved actors. As a result of the research their have been identified several main factors which affect the knowledge production quality
