Alejandro Korn and the humanities in the University of La Plata

Abstract

The University Reform movement promoted in the 1920 ´s new renovator initiatives on superior education, including the development of humanistic studies on it. This article reconstructs the intellectual work and academic interventions of the philosopher Alejandro Korn at the University of La Plata on that decade, to establish a space of knowledge and disciplines of the humanities on it. Also his analysis of philosophical positivism depletion and intellectual preach on the academic development of classic knowledge in the Faculty of Humanities and Education were considered essential to formulate the principles of a renewed philosophy guiding the society in front of a cultural crisis that inaugurated the twentieth century
