Abstract
This article presents in a sumarized way the history of the Department of Educational Sciences, during a long period: from 1914 to the end of the last dictatorship. Then, its focus on the relationship between that institution and educational system in all its levels and modalities. There is a question crossing the hole article related to the way in wich Department of Educational Sciences analysed and proposed debates, and reforms linked to problems and demands of schools
