Notes on the renewal of early education in the mid-20th century
Main Article Content
Abstract
This paper aims to explore the key events facilitating the evolution of early education in Argentina in the middle years of the 20th century. By means of different sources, I analyze how a discourse was built that facilitated a renewal of practices in the kindergarten classrooms, whose main traits have survived to our days. Along these lines, the paper analyzes the way in which early education was featured in educational policies during peronism and revises significant texts from that period. Then, I probe into the effects of the arrival of psychological discourse in the families and classrooms until the onset of the last dictatorship. Regarding the sources used, a selection was made from those belonging to the theoretical reference corpus for the second half of last century.
